The ‘84 Pro

Spoiler alert - this model is a prototype that never made it into production. That being said, we have two photographs of The ‘84 Pro.

On the bottom right photo, is from a scan made from a single page presented to us in person by Hiro Teradaira, the designer of Daion guitars, at the 2024 Dallas Daion Event. Hiro described this guitar as a “prototype,” so we have to conclude it never went into production. As you can see from the scan it’s from page 8 in a section called “Nouveau - New” reviewing new gear. The article is in French and English. Does anyone know the name of the magazine?

In the article, The ‘84 Pro is described as “an electro-acoustic guitar fitted with piezo electric transducer and built-in pre-amp, spruce top, maple back and sides, as well abalone inlays make it a <<deluxe>> model.”

Being named an ‘84, maybe this guitar was intended as a continuation of the YEAR SERIES?

The photo on the bottom left is one was posted to the Daion Facebook Group. You see Hiro seated in his office with The ‘84 Pro hanging on the wall behind him. Check out all that Daion branded goodness in his office!
